chiropractic care st petersburgWhen your spine is out of alignment, it can cause pain, discomfort, and difficulty moving around. Spinal misalignments can also affect your posture, make your muscles sore, or lead to other physical problems. It is important that you get your spine aligned if there is ever a problem with your neck or back. Here are some signs that your spine is out of alignment and you need to seek treatment.

Pain and Discomfort

If you have significant pain or discomfort in your back or neck, your spine could be out of alignment. Your spine might also feel stiff as though you are not able to move as freely as you should be able to. Pain is the body’s way of telling you that something is wrong. Chronic or lasting pain that does not go away on its own should always be examined and treated.

Unevenness

Does your body seem uneven? If your spine is out of alignment, you might notice that one leg seems longer than the other when sitting, lying down, or standing. You may also notice that your hips are not even when you sit or lie down, and one hip might be higher than the other. The body is meant to be symmetrical; so when it is not, it is a sign that you need some assistance.

You Have Had an Accident or Injury

If you had an accident or injury that affected your back, whether directly or indirectly, you should see a chiropractor to have your spine realigned. Often, accidents and injuries can lead to your spine being out of alignment, which might not be noticeable right away. However, the longer your misalignment continues, the more pain you will be in and the harder it will be to treat. If you have an accident or injury, you should simply assume that you should have your spine aligned.
