Many people know that they might need a chiropractor if they have neck or back pain. But your spine can be out of alignment without any pain or tension at all. Having your spine out of alignment can affect your other joints, your activity level, your sleep, and other areas of your health. Here are some signs that your spine is out of alignment and you need to see a chiropractor.
Symmetry
You can easily tell if your spine is out of alignment by the symmetry of your body. Are your hips even when you lie down or stand in front of the mirror? Does one leg seem to be shorter than the other? Are your ears even when you look in the mirror? Does your body lean to one side or the other? Is one foot more turned out than the other? These and other signs of distorted symmetry are a definite sign that you need a chiropractic adjustment.
Pain Level and Comfort
If you find yourself having a hard time getting comfortable when standing, lying down, or sitting, it could be a sign that your spine is out of alignment. While pain is a definite indication that something is wrong, pain might not be severe or constant. You may simply have a hard time getting comfortable when changing position, lying down, or standing.
Not Feeling Your Best
How you are feeling in general can be an indication of your spine being out of alignment. You may be easily fatigued, which can happen when your muscles are tense from needing an adjustment. You may also find that you feel old beyond your years, that you have difficulty standing from a sitting position, or that you are easily winded. These combined with other symptoms could warrant a trip to the chiropractor.
